1. What's your favorite time of day? Morning, Afternoon, evening, or night?
Evening, I think.  Between 4pm-8pm

2. Favorite season(s)?
Autumn.  No competition.

3. Whats your favorite book? If you don't have one, movie works fine.

4. How do you get inspiration for your art?
Um.... music is a big part of it.  I think I come up with most of my ideas while I'm at the gym/ jogging/ walking with my earbuds in.  Most of my storylines and art have a religious theme to them, so I credit spirituality a bit as well.

5. Do you feel confidence is something you gain on your own, or something that others help you with?
Others can help you to an extent, but I believe that the core of a person's confident has to be created by themselves.  Otherwise, a person might become too dependent on what others think of them.

6. What do want to do in the next 5 years? (college, job, family, etc.)
I'm a sophomore in college right now, so in 5 years I should be 1 full year post-graduation.  By that time, I hope to be looking into a job in a museum archive or another academic field regarding art, history, or theology.  Also, dating a girl and getting an apartment with her would be cool.  And leaving my hometown for good.

7. When you fail, do you pick yourself back up and try again, or walk away?
Find another route.  Obviously the last thing you tried didn't work, but maybe you can pull some strings and find another way.

8. What's your favorite drink, and do you prefer your drinks hot or cold?
I like teas the best.  Sweet tea, green honey tea, take your pick... and I like them best cold.

9. Your favorite childhood memory?
Uhhhhhh when I went to Gettysburg the first time??  It was the first historical place I've ever been to and I've been a history nerd for my entire life, so that place hit me hard.

10. Are you who you thought you would be?
NOPE.  No.  No way.  Not a bit.  As a kid, I had very specific ideas about who I wanted to become and what I wanted to look like and I don't think I achieved a single one of those things.  Still,  I think I'm better than what little-me could've hoped for.

11. Following number 10, are you content with who you are or do you strive to change yourself?
Ok here's the thing:  We can NEVER be complacent with who we are, and we must always hope to grow.  Still, that doesn't mean we can't be proud of what we've achieved so far, and I think that I've grown quite a bit.  I'm comfortable in my skin and I believe in myself, but I always ask for more.

12. What kind of impact has art had on your life?
In one long, complicated story, art quite literally saved my life.  In a more simple answer, art is an outlet for those things that I don't express and help me make sense of my internal world.

13. Should pineapples go on pizza or no?
NO.

1) She was the god of death of the universe before hers. After the king-god of that universe judged the world irredeemable, he wanted to initiate a reset. Preneurgenia was ordered to kill everything in the universe (including her king), leaving only her. From there, she recreated the universe and became queen of it, and her world is the world that the rest of my OCs live in.

2) Besides having completely black eyes, she also has a circular hole in her chest and 8 arms that float at her back and are unconnected to her torso.

3) Related to the 8 arms thing: The last god created spiders in her image and Preneurgenia recreated them for her own world. They were a gift, after all.

4) Her creations don't know her name or anything about her outside of a few vague visions of her face. Much of their religion is focused around a desire to learn more about her.

5) Despite now being a creator, her essence is still that of a god of death. She is relentless, unforgiving, calculating, and endlessly calm.

6) Her name came with some help from Surt-ainly and translates to "woman taker." That is, she is a woman who takes lives.

7)  I designed her face much like how I draw Azrael, the Hebrew archangel of death. 

8)  She had nothing to do with the creation of her universe outside of creating the first humans.  She has no impact on their will nor does she attempt to persuade what future they create.  She does, however, pick favorites.

Just a short announcement regarding a new tag that I'm really determined to add to on Tumblr!  My "art advice" tag will be dedicated to posts that give advice and maybe some inspiration to an artist.  It will have some drawing exercises and words of encouragement that I think are helpful!  This tag will be specifically targeted towards new artists, but I'm sure experienced artists could pick up a thing or two from it as well.  This tag is not to be confused with my "references" tag (found here: fogofdust.tumblr.com/tagged/re…), which is more focused around how-to-draw type stuff.

FreeRice.com is a charming little website that will ask you some basic questions about vocabulary, mathematics, and geography, but there's a catch; with every question you answer correctly, a little sponsor banner will appear at the bottom of the screen.  That sponsor will then donate 10 grains of rice to countries in need, such as Haiti, Uganda, Nepal, and Cambodia!  

It's a perfect example of the internet being used for good, and, one of my favorite features is that it offers SAT prep questions!  High schoolers can study for their SATs and help other kids who aren't lucky enough to have that opportunity to take it while they do so.
